In consideration of New Year’s resolutions, I made a commitment to infuse more exercise into my routine. Remembering the fond memories my son and I shared watching KidzBop on YouTube during his younger years, I revisited the channel. KidzBop offers an entertaining and age-appropriate space for youngsters to dance and stay active. It struck me as an opportunity not just to exercise but to explore new moves, break away from repetitive workouts, and alleviate the solitude of solitary fitness routines.

Last weekend, I turned on the television and became inspired by a 90-year old woman who walked six miles on Valentine's Day to get her COVID-19 vaccine because this would soon allow her to hug her loved ones, including her great grandchildren. During this challenging time with COVID-19, we can take many precautions such as social distancing, wearing masks, and wiping things down with disinfectant. Still, we are susceptible to catching it. Let’s take steps to strengthen ourselves with exercise, nutrition, and healthy socialization so that our bodies are as strong as possible to fight off viruses or infections, and minimize the chance for disease.
I am so thankful to the many first-responders such as doctors, nurses, fire and police men and women, and many other types of health-care workers who are at a high risk of contracting the coronavirus as they do their jobs. In addition, there are other people in occupations such as cashiers, media personnel, those involved in manufacturing personal protective equipment (PPE) and many other occupations who are still working during this time.
With the coronovirus outbreak, many of us have cleaning our homes heavy on our minds. Although there is much that we do not yet know about this virus, it is important to do what we can to avoid bringing germs into our homes and for ridding those germs that are already there.
